About
I wanted to create a company that breaks traditions, challenges ideas, and confronts conventional ways of thinking about business and personal lifestyle management. In 1986, my dream came true and since then we've gone from strength to strength working one client at a time, one heart at a time.
Hundreds of projects have followed in a diverse range of industries including: Timber, Printing, Insurance, Music, Sport, Branding, Advertising, Motor Vehicles, Cranes, Diamond Drills, Paper, Government and more.... In 1997 I challenged the traditional ways of an indigenous community to help break the cycles of youth suicide. Not everyone likes being challenged, some even get nasty, but we're up for the challenge and have been successful in all business and most personal briefs we've taken on over the last 25 years.
Walker International was born in 1986 during the last year of my MBA. I'd sold my engineering firm, and decided to bring to business what I needed most as a business leader: Leadership Support.
The primary requirement was to help leaders learn how to Think Inspired. To do so means to get beyond rhetoric, guess work, pure logic and emotional complexity. To Think Inspired means to simplify, clarify, identify, and multiply. It saves energy, cuts through fog, but leaves desperate people no place to go, either evolve or perish, it's a Law of Nature.
Shaking the tree in an organisation is not always comfortable. Some leaders believe that their role is to protect individuals from the march of time, but they are doing the worse harm, preventing an individual from a realisation of their own potential. Yes, we sometimes challenge people, but this is absolutely meant with compassion. We know that if somebody doesn't do it, nature will, and that spells disaster on a human and personal scale.
Over these past 25 years we've published thirteen books, hundreds of Ebooks, podcasts and online videos all in the interest of helping challenge old ways of approaching self leadership and organisational leadership. We look forward to another 25 years doing the same... Fast, Conscious Change.
